Even strong writers miss things: a misplaced comma, a verb that disagrees with its subject, a word spelled correctly but used wrongly (“their” instead of “there”). Spellcheckers built into browsers catch typos, but they rarely explain grammar. Our free Grammar Checker reads your text and flags spelling mistakes, grammar errors and style issues, then shows a suggested fix for each one with a single click to apply it.
It is built for bloggers, students, freelancers and anyone publishing content online. Paste up to 2,000 characters, pick your language — English (US or UK), German, French or Spanish — and click Check Grammar. Errors appear highlighted in your text; click any highlight to read the explanation and accept the suggested correction. The checking itself is powered by the open-source LanguageTool engine through our server, so your text is never sent to an ad network and the tool is completely free with no signup.

FAQs
Is my text stored or shared anywhere?
No. Your text is sent to the LanguageTool checking engine only for the duration of the check and is not stored on our server. Nothing is used for advertising or training, and you never need an account.
Why is there a 2,000-character limit?
The free LanguageTool service limits how much text can be checked per request. For longer documents, check them in sections — split at paragraph breaks so sentences stay intact.
What does “service busy, try again in a minute” mean?
The checking service allows a limited number of requests per minute. If many people are checking at once, you may hit that limit — waiting about a minute and trying again almost always works.
