Cropping is about focus — cutting away the clutter so the subject fills the frame, or slicing a screenshot down to just the relevant part. Our free Image Cropper gives you a visual canvas: upload an image and drag a rectangle to select exactly what to keep, with a live readout showing the selection in full-resolution pixels so you know precisely what you are getting. Free, no signup, works on phones too.
Aspect-ratio presets (Free, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9) constrain the drag for profile pictures, thumbnails and social-media formats, and the Clear button resets the selection without re-uploading. The crop renders at the image’s natural resolution — not the on-screen preview size — and downloads as a crisp PNG. Everything runs locally on canvas, so your photos never leave your device, and touch support means it works on phones and tablets as well as desktops.
Use it for blog thumbnails, product images, avatars and social crops. When you need exact dimensions rather than a free selection, the Image Resizer is the companion tool.

FAQs
Is the crop taken at full resolution?
Yes. The canvas shows a scaled preview for convenience, but the readout and the downloaded PNG use the image’s natural pixels — the crop maps your selection back to full resolution.
How do the aspect presets work?
With a preset active, your drag is constrained to that ratio: 1:1 for avatars, 4:3 for classic photos, 16:9 for banners and video thumbnails. Choose Free for an unconstrained rectangle.
Does it work on touch screens?
Yes. The cropper uses pointer events, so finger drags on phones and tablets work exactly like mouse drags on desktop.
