Behind every Facebook page and profile sits a numeric ID — a long string of digits that developers need for API integrations, chat plugins, embedded feeds and ad tools. Facebook long ago hid these IDs from the visible URL, replacing them with usernames. Our Find Facebook ID tool digs the numeric ID back out: paste any Facebook page or profile URL and we scan the page for it.
The tool searches the page’s underlying data for the known patterns Facebook uses to store IDs — pageID fields, fb://profile links and entity identifiers — and returns the first match. It is the same detective work you could do manually in View Source, automated into a single click. No login required, no app permissions, no API keys.
Typical uses include connecting a Facebook page to a website chat widget, configuring social login, embedding a page feed, or looking up a page in the Meta ad library tools. If no ID is found — for example on login-walled content — the tool tells you plainly instead of guessing.

FAQs
Why do I need the numeric ID instead of the username?
Many Facebook integrations, plugins and API endpoints require the numeric ID because usernames can change while IDs are permanent.
Does this work for private profiles?
Only for pages and profiles whose content is publicly viewable. Login-walled or heavily restricted pages may not expose an ID.
Is it legal to look up a Facebook ID?
Yes — numeric page IDs are public identifiers, and the tool only reads publicly available page data, the same as viewing source in a browser.
