Invisible Character Tool

Ever wondered how people post blank messages or use empty-looking usernames? The trick is invisible Unicode characters — real characters that take up space but render as nothing. Our free Invisible Character Tool lets you copy the most useful ones (U+2800, U+200B, U+2060 and U+FEFF) with a single click, or generate a custom-length string of any of them for blank bios, empty WhatsApp messages and special formatting tricks.

These characters are handy for creating blank Instagram bios, invisible usernames in games, empty message bubbles that get a friend’s attention, or placeholder text in forms that require input. The tool is free, needs no sign-up, and works entirely in your browser. Note that some platforms filter or trim invisible characters, so if a paste is rejected, try a different character from the list.

Invisible Character Tool

Copy invisible / blank Unicode characters for usernames, bios and messages.

Generates a string of the selected invisible character, repeated the given number of times.

How to use: click a button to copy the invisible character, then paste it anywhere a blank or invisible character is needed — for example a blank username, an empty-looking bio line, or a blank WhatsApp message. The character occupies space but renders invisibly, so some apps still count it as text.

How to use

  1. Click any of the four one-click copy buttons to copy that invisible character.
  2. For a longer blank string, choose a character and enter how many times to repeat it.
  3. Click “Copy” to copy the generated string.
  4. Paste it into the username, bio, chat or form field where you need invisible text.

FAQs

What is the difference between U+2800 and U+200B?

U+2800 (braille pattern blank) is a visible-blank space that most apps treat as a real character, so it works well for blank bios and usernames. U+200B (zero-width space) is truly zero-width and is mainly useful for line-break control or hiding text separators. For blank WhatsApp messages, U+2800 is the most reliable choice because messaging apps treat it as visible content.

Why did an app reject my invisible character?

Some apps strip whitespace-only input or block specific codepoints. Try a different character — U+2800 and U+2060 (word joiner) are accepted more often than zero-width spaces. If one character fails, the custom generator makes it easy to test another without retyping anything.

Can invisible characters be used to cheat word counts?

They add characters, not words, and most plagiarism or word-count tools ignore zero-width characters. Use them for formatting and fun, not to game academic or SEO checks. Search engines likewise ignore zero-width characters, so they offer no SEO advantage either.
