Meta Tag Generator

The <head> of your page carries the metadata search engines and social networks rely on: the title shown in Google results, the description under it, crawler instructions, the character encoding, and the social preview tags. Getting every tag right by hand means memorizing a dozen syntaxes. Our free Meta Tag Generator turns a simple form into a complete, valid <head> snippet — title, description, keywords, author, robots directives, charset, viewport, canonical link, plus optional Open Graph and Twitter Card tags.

It is ideal for new pages, landing pages and client handovers where you want clean metadata without digging through documentation. Type your details once, toggle the tag groups you need, and copy the finished block straight into your template — or download it as an HTML file for your developer. The generator enforces correct attribute order and escaping, so the output is ready to paste. Free, no signup, and everything is assembled in your browser; nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.

FAQs

How long should my title and description be?

Keep titles around 50–60 characters so Google does not truncate them, and descriptions between 120–160 characters. The generator does not enforce limits — write naturally and check lengths with our Meta Tags Analyzer after publishing.

Do meta keywords still matter for SEO?

Google ignores the keywords meta tag for ranking, but some smaller engines and internal site-search tools still read it. Including a few accurate keywords costs nothing, which is why the generator offers the field without pushing it.

When should I use noindex?

Use noindex for pages you do not want in search results — thank-you pages, internal search results, staging copies. Keep index, follow for every page you want found. Be careful: noindexing the wrong page removes it from Google.
